Sheila’s Rum Punch started in 2017 as a result of a
recipe bequeathed to its founder and CEO Sheila Bvuure-Gaynor by her late
mother-in-law. In the early days SRP supplied friends and family at parties and
functions. Through its popularity and repeat orders it’s founder and CEO saw
its potential as a business. Sheila decided to make her stake in what is a male
dominated industry, and formed her company Sheila’s Rum Punch (SRP) in 2018.
Since starting the company there have been many
obstacles for Sheila. Her main challenge
came in 2019 when she was diagnosed with cancer, but through grit and
determination she battled through. winning the admiration of the consultants
and nurses at the Macmillan Centre. Although her treatment is ongoing Sheila
has continued to run her business, at times from her hospital bed. Despite the
many challenges SRP continues as a family rum business and continues to deliver
big flavors to the industry for the world to enjoy.
